IDFA to screen Iran’s doc. ‘Makeup Artist’

Iranian film ‘Makeup Artist’ has made its way to the International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA) in the Netherlands.

‘Makeup Artist’, directed by Jafar Najafi, will be screened in IDFA as part of the premiere-only section, Luminous, along with 20 other films.

“Mina, determined to realize her dreams, not only refuses to succumb to her husband and mother-in-law’s fierce opposition but also paves her own path and pushes forward along it. Gradually, it looks as if the people and world around her are starting to change…,” a synopsis for the film reads.

The film won an Award of Excellence at the Yamagata International Documentary Film Festival (YIDFF) in Japan.

The participation of ‘Makeup Artist’ at IDFA marks its European premiere.

The 34th edition of IDFA will take place in person on November 17-28.
